Privacy policy
This site sets no cookie and runs no analytics. A question typed into the home page goes to Shelly's own live agent, and a booked call or an email is the other way information reaches Gray Sand.

Who runs this site
This website is run by Gray Sand Technology in San Diego, California, and it describes Shelly, the website, inbox, and search agent Gray Sand makes and manages. Questions about this page go to hello@graysandtech.com, and Dan Smith, who runs Gray Sand, answers them himself.
What this site collects
No cookie is set or read on the public pages. No analytics script, tag manager, pixel, or tracker runs on them. The fonts are served from this site rather than from Google, so loading a page makes no request to a font service.
The answer box on the home page
The box on the home page is a live Shelly agent reading this site, the same product a client runs on theirs. A question you type is sent to Shelly's own server, answered from these pages, and stored as a conversation with an anonymous visitor id that sits in your browser's local storage, so a second question can continue the first. It carries no name and no IP address unless you type one in. When the live agent is not available, the box answers from a scripted set built into the page and sends nothing.
The Ask button on the contact page is a scripted demo. It makes no network request when you type, and what you type stays in the open tab.
Sign in and sign up
Signing in sends a six-digit code to the email address you enter, and the address is stored as your account. Nothing else is collected at sign-in, and a session cookie is set only once you are signed in to the dashboard.
How information reaches Gray Sand
Booking a call happens on the Gray Sand portal at graysand-portal.vercel.app, a separate site with its own handling, where you leave your name, your email, and a time so the invitation can be sent. Emailing hello@graysandtech.com lands in Gray Sand's Google mailbox and is read by Dan.
Either way, what you send is used to reply to you and to prepare for the call, and for nothing else. It is not added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list.
Hosting
The site is served by Vercel. As any host does, Vercel sees the address a page was requested from and the page requested, and keeps its own short-lived request logs under its privacy policy. Gray Sand does not read those logs to identify visitors.
Client data
A business that runs Shelly on its own website gives Gray Sand its pages and the conversations its customers have with the agent. How that data is stored, who can see it, and how it is removed is on the data page, which is written for a compliance reviewer.

To ask what Gray Sand holds about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, email hello@graysandtech.com. For a visitor to this site that is a conversation with the home page agent, if you had one, and the email thread or booking if you wrote in or booked a call.
The ShellyGPT app
ShellyGPT at shellygpt.com is the consumer chat app that shares the name. It has its own privacy policy and terms on that site, and this page does not cover it.

When this site starts running analytics or begins collecting anything more, this page changes first and the date at the top moves.
